A natural lake, located only a few minutes away from our Hotels. Oroklini Lake is a Natura 2000 site and also classified as a SCI under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) for its halophytic marsh vegetation.
Just after dawn and before dusk, visitors can see passerine migrants such as Flycatchers and Wheatears.
This site is excellent when it holds water, as it reveals wintering Wildfowls, including White-fronted Geese and Red-crested Pochard.
Larnaka Salt Lake is famous for the wintering of Flamingos, Wildfowl, Gulls, Waders and Terns.
This artificial reservoir was built around twenty years ago. It is now declared a Special Protection Area for birds ~ It includes Dalmatian Pelican Pelecanus crispus, Great Black-headed Gull Larus Ichthyaetus and Lesser Whitefronted Geese Anser Erythropus. Cyprus is one of the most significant places for birds at a national, European and Worldwide level, due to its geographical location and warm environment.
Seasonal lake ~ Declared a Special Protection Area for birds , it introduces Flamingos, Heron species, Crakes, Waders, species of ‘Marsh’ Tern; White-tailed Lapwing and Spur-winged Lapwing breeds.
It lies on the East side of Larnaka. This region falls under a busy migration route between Africa and Europe. It is mainly attractive during Spring ~ migrants include Herons, Egrets, Raptors, Honey Buzzard, Black Kite and Pallid Harrier, White-throated Robin and Red-breasted Flycatcher breeds.
The region of Larnaka is an ideal terrain for professional cyclists through mountain and road bike tours (Guided tours) which vary according to riders’ fitness and experience and may challenge the most hardened cyclist.

This enormous Swedish ship and her cargo are buried on the seabed 800m off the Larnaka coast since it went down in 1980.
It is considered one of the best diving sites in Cyprus and has been rewarded a place in the top-5 wreck dives in the world.
It has a range of diving levels, allowing both beginners and experienced divers to appreciate its beauty (max depth 42m ~ top rail 18m).
